Nepali women's team trophy drought continues as Thailand defeated Nepal by a considerable margin of 70 runs in the final of Women's T20 Smash today. At the final match, Thailand showed superior performance to lift the title of Women's T20 Smash.

In today’s final match, Rubina Chhetri won the toss and elected to field first. This was the most crucial match for both sides who were undefeated over this tournament. Winning the toss, Nepal invited Thailand to bat first. Batting first Thailand’s opener batswomen gave a perfect start, Opener duo Natthakan Chantham and Naruemol Chaiwai made a massive partnership of 93 runs. Despite using seven bowlers, Nepal was unable to break this partnership until 17th over. In the last delivery of 17th over, Naruemol Chaiwai was run out, and the significant partnership was finally broken. She contributed 27 runs, but Natthakan Chantham was still on the crease batting well. After that Nepali bowlers were unable to get the wicket and Thailand made 121 runs at the end of 20th over. Natthakan Chantham played a brilliant inning scoring 69 runs facing 67 balls.

Chasing the target of 122 runs, Kajal Shreshta and Sita Rana Magar opened for Nepal. But in the first over, Kajal Shrestha was run out just after opening her account. Next batswomen Indu Barma was LBW trapped without scoring a run. After that Nepal lost the vital wicket of Sita Rana Magar, who contributed 13 runs for Nepal. At that stage, Nepal was at the condition of 15/3 at 4.5 overs. Once again Thailands bowling attack was too much difficult to handle for Nepalese batswomen, and Neplease rushed to return to pavilion one by one. The middle order batswomen Roma Thapa, Sarita Magar, and Rubina Chhetri lost their wickets scoring 2 and five runs each respectively. After that Neri Thapa scored 17 runs, the highest in Nepal’s inning. Then Karun Bhandari returned to pavilion scoring just four runs. The last two players for Nepal, Dalli Bhatta, and Kavita Kunwar were out for a duck. Nepal was restricted in 51 runs at the end of 17.2 overs, and Thailand won the game with a massive margin of 70 runs. S. Laomi picked up three crucial wickets conceding just 15 runs in 4 over, and S.Tiopph picked up two wickets in four overs conceding just six runs.

Thailand remained undefeated in this tournament and successfully won T20 Smash trophy. Meanwhile, this was the first loss in this tournament for Nepalese women. Nepali Women's team have once again failed to win the tournament, and their trophy drought continues.
