We were supposed to have a further 10 games since the last 12th Man's debate but unfortunately, some unseasonably wet weather has meant that 3 of those fixtures have ended without a result being possible. However, in the games that have been completed we have seen some compelling and exciting cricket. England captain Eoin Morgan smashed a world record 17 sixes in an innings against Afghanistan yesterday with Bangladesh having completed the 2nd highest run chase in World Cup history in beating the West Indies the day before that.

Below is a recap on the 7 matches that were completed this week with links to the official ICC highlights

Pakistan v Australia

Game 17 - Australia got off to a good start despite some helpful conditions but Pakistan fought back well to restrict the Aussies to 307. At 136-2 and 264-7 Pakistan were in the hunt but Australia's pace bowlers eventually got them over the line to seal a 41 run win.

England v West Indies

Game 19 - With the West Indies good start to the tournament and recent record against England, this match was being portrayed as a potential upset for the hosts. However, despite a couple of injuries, England's power saw them home to a comfortable 8 wicket win.

.

Sri Lanka v Australia

Game 20 - Captain Aaron Finch amasses 153 in a total of 334-7 for Australia. In response, Sri Lanka start brightly with Perera and Karunaratne putting on a century partnership. However, once the top-order is out Sri Lanka lose 9 wickets for 94 runs as Australia win comfortably.

Afghanistan v Sri Lanka

Game 21 - Going into this match neither side had managed a win in the tournament but it was South Africa who came out on top to keep their slim hopes of qualification alive with a very convincing 9 wicket victory over the lowest ranked side in the competition.

India v Pakistan

Game 22 - 1 billion people tune in to watch one of the biggest sporting spectacles on the planet. The rain holds off long enough for Rohit Sharma to hit a beautiful century in a total of 336 before India's bowlers restrict Pakistan to just 212 runs to seal an 89 run win via DLS.

West Indies v Bangladesh

Game 23 - In a must-win match for both sides West Indies score 321 in their 50 overs thanks to fifties from Lewis, Hope and Hetmyer. However, Shakib Al Hasan becomes the leading run scorer at the World Cup with an unbeaten 124 to guide his side to victory.

England v Afghanistan

Game 24 - Hosts England start slowly but a brutal innings of 148 from just 71 balls including a record 17 sixes from England captain Eoin Morgan gets his side to 397. Afghanistan are never in the hunt but manage to see out their 50 overs for 247 runs. The win takes England top of the league.
