Young Finnish gun Teemu Suninen leads WRC Rally Sweden after first full day of competition. I must say that rally started yesterday with one super special stage but today action started for real.

I must admit that I didn't expect that Suninen will lead the rally at some point because this young lad still has lot to learn. So that means that big surprise is on the way. We all know that Finnish drivers are extremely good on fast and flowing stages so we can probably expect some bigger results from Teemu in the future.

The biggest disappointment for sure is Ogier who got stuck in the snow bank and had to retire from day one. He will be back tomorrow with time penalty from Super Rally rule.

Ogier's biggest challenger Thierry Neuville finished the day only 7th but he will concentrate on the as higher as possible result this weekend because he knows that championship battle with Ogier is like a chess game. He has to collect points and to finish in front of Ogier as much as possible.

Ogier will go for a finish and for sure try to win the Power Stage which could give him 5 points because he is now in 46th position and there is no way he can come into the points scoring position on Sunday unless he tray everything on Power Stage.

Two long days of action are in front of us and everything is still possible. I would bet on Tanal's win here in Sweden.

Results after day one:

Suninen 1:11:05.3

Tanak +2.0

Mikkelsen +17.8

Evans +28.6

Lappi +42.0
