Fantasy football is here finally, and we are just around 4 hours from the deadline as I write this. Most of you have finalised your team if you haven't do it now. I don't want you to miss the boat. And I believe most of you have selected your best player as your captain. Here I will be writing on some of the popular captain choices.  If you have joined Scorum-Fans/SBC League for Fantasy Football, join here. If you are awesome, you must have joined and ready to rock and roll this season. You can check the full list of registered manager in excel sheet here.

The stats are from the 2017/18 season. I have only included the players who I think will certainly start the GW1. I got the goal scoring odds from the williamhill.

Salah vs West Ham

Actually, the whole list is useless if you have Salah on your team. Go for Salah, there are no second thoughts, as he is the beast. I am definitely going for him. 54% of fpl managers own him and most of them will be going with him. The main concern here is if Salah shines and you don't have Salah on your team you will quickly fall behind the pack, and will have a hard time recovering. He is the most expensive player in FPL but at 13million, you can get a player who can easily get you double figure as seen in last season when he scored massive 303 points for his managers.

Firmino/Mane vs West Ham

Liverpool is in such a good form that when they play, you believe they will get 3-4 goals. This makes Firmino or Mane as other candidates to give the armband if you don't have Salah. They combined to score 25 goals and 14 assists between them in last season. Both these players have pretty good anytime goal scoring odds, will certainly notch goals or assist for you.

Sanchez vs Leicester

Manchester United are not in good form nor their players are. But Sanchez showed some positive signs in pre-season with his hard work. He was the best player for Red Devils in US tour and made both goals possible against Real Madrid which they won 2-1, only a victory coming in regular time. Sanchez at 10.5m will be leading the line for United who is without Lukaku. We might see Sanchez getting the season opener with anytime goal scoring odds of 6/5 from the bookies. He is not heavily own, and if he shines, your team will have the flying start.

Aguero vs Arsenal

Best player in community shield against Chelsea with 2 goals, his ownership rose from 13% to 30% now. He should the candidate with most armband after Liverpool trios. Although tricky fixtures, he should start ahead of Jesus for this match. When he is in the field, he can score against any team. Last season, he was rotation prone with Jesus coming in but still, he managed to score 21 goals for the citizens.

Aubameyang vs Man City

With Wenger gone, and Emery coming in, we expect Arsenal to improve this season. But for Emery, he is having the toughest game to start a season with, but he might have an answer as their best player Aubameyang is in good shape and good form. He had good preseason scoring 6 goals. He ended last season with high note scoring 10 goals and providing 4 assists with nearly 7 points every match. He has 20% ownership and would be popular pick although he has a tough fixture to start with.

Zaha vs Fulham vs / King vs Cardiff

Both these mid-priced players have good form to start with as Zaha faces newly-promoted Fulham and King faces another promoted Cardiff. Both of these had excellent summer scoring 4 goals each. Zaha is heavily owned with 31% ownership while King has nearly 8% ownership. Bournemouth should do goal galore at home against the weakest team in the PL and is differential captain pick for GW1.

Who is your Captain? If you still have a doubt, go for Salah. :)
Happy Fantasy and good luck to you all.
