If you saw the game between Bulgaria and England yesterday, you most likely could have wept for the dark ages mentality that is still been displayed by people in this time and age to disrupt and tarnish the image of the beautiful round leather game of football.

Prior to the match, Chelsea's Tammy Abraham mentioned that the players had agreed to walk off the pitch should they hear any racist chant. As if that was not warning enough, the home supporters nonetheless engaged in this embarrassing act.

Midway into the first half, the game had to be stopped and an announcement made via the Public Address System to caution perpetrators. We thought we had seen the end until the game was almost looking like it would be abandoned when some fans had to be evicted from the stadium. England captain on the night, Harry Kane had to at some point call the referee's attention to this shameful act. It is very sad.

MY OPINION

I just feel the football governing bodies at all levels are not doing enough. Imagine, the coach of the Bulgarian side claiming not ton have heard the chants and still went ahead to accuse the travelling English fans of unruly behaviour.

We don't even accept that there is a problem, which is the first step towards solving any problem. How then do we tackle such a problem if we fail to accept its presence?

I think FIFA should wade him and hit big on perpetrators.

What do you think about this unending cases of racism in stadiums?
