NIGERIA VS LIBYA MATCH PREVIEW

Following South Africa emphatic win in Johannesburg earlier in the day Nigeria Super Eagles needed a positive result in their third AFCON Qualification match against Libya to keep in the hunt.

The Libyans were their own worst enemies in the beginning stage as they conceding sloppy penalty with stopper and skipper Mohamed Nachnouch in the guilty party fouling Eagles' striker Odion Ighalo in the box. The former Watford Hitman didn't fail to hit the back of the net from the spot just 4' into the game.

The Super Eagles were in the mood to play and they keep asking the right questions as Wilfred Ndidi attempt was saved and they got away with that one.

On the other end of the field 19years old keeper Francis Uzoho did everything in his power to maintain a clean sheet as he was in between the sticks.

It was an easy and we'll deserved second as Alex Iwobi release a lovely ball to Ighalo and the China based striker gives a smooth finish.

Soon he celebrated his first hat trick in front of his home fans when he was played through dip in the box by Skipper Musa and he roll the ball across the line in his second hit.

Celebrating Odion Ighalo's first goal

The party didn't end as Eagles' and Bordeaux winger Samuel Kalu sealed the win with a classical finish to give Nigeria a 4-0 win over Libya in the Nest of Champions.

It was a marvelous performance from the Super Eagles as they dominated the match from start to finish.

How They Stand

Bafana Bafana go 1 points clear on top of Group E half way through the AFCON qualifiers following their magnificent win over Seychelles.

They are closely followed by Nigeria with 6 points in the second place.

Libya stood 3rd after a disappointing result against Nigeria.

Seychelles remain the weeping boys in the group as they remain pointless with -13 GD.

Ighalo silenced his critics.

For the past matches it seems nothing fruitful came from his boot but Odion Ighalo responded with an hat trick against Libya to revive the hope of the fans on him and keep his critics silent. That was Ighalo's first hat trick for the Nigeria.

Ahmed Musa Got A Birthday Present

The Eagles victory served as an icing on the cake for the team's skipper Ahmed Musa who celebrates his birthday yesterday the 14th day of October 2018 as he turned 26.

The skipper started playing for the Super Eagles at the age of 16.
