Kevin Strootman was one of the most sought after midfielders a few years back. The now 30-year-old Dutchman was therefore also linked with some of the biggest clubs in the world - including Manchester United, who, however, ended up losing the battle for his signature to AS Roma.

Strootman managed to get five years in the Italian capital before completing a move to Marseille in 2018. Now the former United sought after has returned to Serie A - at least for a brief remark.

Genoa confirms on the club's website that they have secured Strootman on a loan agreement that is valid for the rest of the season.

Strootmann can already make his debut on Sunday, with Genoa taking the trip to Bergamo to cross blades with Atalanta.
