Do you know that Christiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Neymar Jr are not the richest football players? This might sound crazy, but it's the truth. So, ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the richest footballer in the world.
This handsome young chap plays for Leicester City reserves, and he is 19 years old. Faiq Bolkiah is worth an estimated $20 billion (£14billion) He is the nephew of Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan of Brunel. Faiq was born in Los Angeles.
In 2009 Southampton added him to its academy, and in 2013 Arsenal offered him a trial that same year during the Lion City competition he scored a goal. In 2014, Chelsea swooped and offered him a 2-year deal, but he left in December 2015 to sign for Leicester in a 3-year deal.
Faiq is the captain of his national team and has only played 9 times with a goal to his name. He could as well played for the United States, but he was loyal to his family.
When Faiq was 7 years old, his dad spent a whopping sum of £35 million just to get the King of Pop Michael Jackson performs in a private concert for him. Faiq is so rich that he can comfortably buy his own team.
In a rare interview with Uk"s Daily Mirror, Faiq said;
I've played football since as early as I can remember, and from a young age, I have always enjoyed going out on the field and moving the ball at my feet.
My parents have always been supportive in helping me to achieve my dreams of being a footballer, and they trained me hard both psychologically and physically through my childhood years, so I have to say they are my role models
Faiq has everything life can offer, but chose to stay true to his love for football. The question is if your father was one of the richest men in the world, would you still follow your dreams? I know most people would have joined the family business where life will be made easy, but with Faiq is a different ball game. And to top it all, he is super cute.
