After I had written the article about the Idols of EPL I caught the idea of making the similar articles about the others Leagues. I know for sure that every league can boast great players. Every team can be proud of its footballers like Chelsea is proud of Terry and Liverpool of Gerrard. It’s fantastic to understand that there are so many extraordinary players who stand for their clubs for so many years. Their names are totally connected and associated with definite clubs. You can be not a football fan but I’m convinced you know these people. The clubs they played at or even play till now. So, let me introduce the players of La Liga who have became its idols.

Iker Casillas

Iker was born in a simple family. Since his birth his father had just one dream. He desired his son to become not just a footballer but to play at Real Madrid. So at the age of 9 Iker was brought to Real football school and there he chose goalkeeper’s position. If Casillias could even imagine! His son became not a simple player but the history of Real Madrid. 25 years he kept the net of the Spanish FC. And played 751 matches during these years.

Xavier Hernández

Or as we all used to say Xavi became a player of Barcelona youth team in 1991. And at the age of 18 he appeared in line-up thanks to his fantastic play. It happened on August 18 in 1998 in the match for The Supercopa de España or the Spanish Super Cup. The former Capitan struggled for the colors of Barcelona for 24 years. He spent 505 matches and scored 58 goals at the position of midfielder. Although now he is a player of another team everyone will thank Xavi for the devotion to Barcelona.

Fernando Torres

Torres became interested in football since his early childhood and joined his first team Parque 84 at the age of five. But Fernando’s Grandpa was crazy only about Atletico Madrid. So he shared his passion to his grandson.Torres became Atletico player in 1995. And scored the goals for this club till 2007. During the next 8 years Fernando would change 3 clubs (Liverpool, Chelsea and Milan). In 2015 Torres was rented from Milan by his native Atletico. And after a year of renting he returned to the club of his heart where he performed till 2018. All in all Torres played in Atletico for 15 years and appeared in 417 matches and scored 109 goals.

Andres Iniesta

It goes without saying that Iniesta is one of the most outstanding players in the history of world football. He started his career at the local FC Albacete in 1994. And two years later became Barcelona youth midfielder. In general he spent 22 years with Blaugranas. Andres performed in 496 matches and scored 40 goals. On May 26 in 2018 Iniesta was officially introduced as a player of the Japanese club Vissel Kobe. The contract was signed for three years. And few days ago he scored his first goal there. Iniesta is a kind of players who can be named the icon not only of Barcelona, but of the whole football.

Lionel Messi

I can guess what you are thinking about: Messi is still playing in Barcelona and nobody knows what happens next. Yes! But it can’t prevent him of being an icon. He still continues his great career at Barcelona. Messi started playing football at the age of five in the club coached by his father. And in 2000 he began performing in the Barcelona youth team. He has already been playing in Barcelona for 19 years and appeared in 450 matches where he scored (just imagine) 394 goals. Messi is rightly considered one of the best football players of all time. That makes him a real icon of Barcelona.

Who do you think would add this list?
