This was confirmed by Giggs, the Welsh coach, who revealed that the Madridista did want to participate.

"We do not want to take risks, he has a 50% chance of being against Ireland."

Ryan Giggs, coach of the Wales national team, confirmed Wednesday at a press conference that Gareth Bale will not play in the friendly against Spain due to muscle fatigue:

 "It's not something serious and maybe he has an opportunity for Tuesday, but you have to see him day to day, "said Giggs.

The Welshman retired from Real Madrid's game against Alavés last weekend claiming fatigue while dragging a groin injury in recent weeks.

The 29 year old did not train on Wednesday and Giggs said he has a "50 percent" chance of playing against the Republic of Ireland next Tuesday, a game framed within the League of Nations.

"We do not want to take any risks with him, we are preparing the game (against Ireland) for both scenarios," he said.

Giggs also said that the medical team is in constant dialogue with Real Madrid and that the player wanted to be part of the game.

Regarding Spain, Giggs highlighted Luis Enrique Martínez as the new coach and said they were "really impressive their results last month", when they beat the runners-up in the world, Croatia, and England.

"We want to win tomorrow, but on Tuesday there are three points at stake, it is difficult and exciting to play against the best in the world, and Luis Enrique is one of the best technicians," 

The former Manchester United player also joked about the condition of Principality Stadium's turf and said he is in perfect condition, "perhaps too good to play against Spain.

"It's very exciting to have the opportunity to play here, it's a great stage, the grass is magnificent, maybe too good to play against Spain, it could be a little longer," he said.
