There was little doubt about his arrival since the ouster of Quique Setien. Ronald Koeman was officially appointed as a replacement for the former manager this Monday. He is a former player of the club (1989-1995), the technician is hereby committed to the club until June 30, 2022. He will be presented to the press today Wednesday evening around 6 pm.

His arrival to the club comes after the defeat against Bayern (2-8) in the quarterfinals of the Champions League. This departure will have if consequences for the Netherlands, of which Koeman has been coaching since February 6, 2018. Known as “The legend, hero of Wembley, the man who offered Barca their very first victory in the European Cup, returns to the Camp Nou" and welcomed the club in a statement. But this time around, he will do it as a coach because the Dutchman brings more than 20 years of experience as a manager and eight trophies on his CV.

In the same vein, the overhaul of the Catalan club's organization chart is not entirely complete, because the day after the announcement of the departure of Eric Abidal, FC Barcelona indicated that Ramon Planes would henceforth occupy the functions of technical secretary. Having passed by Tottenham (2014-2015), the manager had arrived at the club in June 2018 from Getafe where he held the position of sports director. He had previously worked in the staff of Abidal, whose contract was terminated on Monday.

Will the arrival of Koeman as the new Manager and Ramon as the new Sports Director turn around the fortunes of the club? Will the change to management brings back the winning spirit dominating the World of Football? Is the untouchable Messi alone, be the one-man squad needed for victories upon victories? I think we will have to wait for next season before these questions get their answers.

Good luck to the new men on the mantle and for the entire Barcelona club as well as the entire fans.
