Just watching these youngsters play, you get the feeling or wish that they just replace the older ones already. Efficiency, class, pace, luck, everything just seems to be going hand in hand with these young men.

As has been typical of Solari ever since his inception as coach of Real Madrid, he hasn't been afraid to hand the younger Castilla players a chance to prove their worth and it has been paying dividends.

Real Madrid welcomed Melilla to the Bernabeu for the return leg of the Copa Del Rey round of 32 with a 4-0 aggregate in their favour. Solari gave Keylor Navas a start at the post for the first time since he became manager. Dani Carvajal was included at left back in place of the injures and absent Marcelo and Sergio Reguilon. Castilla Javi Sanchez and injury prone Jesus Vallejo partnered each other in central defence and Alvaro Odriozola was brought in at right back.

In form and resilient Marcos Llorente retained his central position in midfield, a position he has held, astonished and cemented as his ever since Casemiro was injured against Celta Vigo and Eibar outrunning our defence and midfield without a natural ball hassler. Marcos was brought in after Solari realized in time where the problem lied, he impressed beyond expectation against As Roma and Valencia and was included in the starting line up once again, most likely to hold and seal off the tie before half time changes. Federal Valverde was placed alongside Marco at the right side of the midfield and Isco Alarcon, who was starting his first match under Solari partnered the aforementioned duo at the left side of the midfield.

The attack saw Vinicius Junior at his natural left flank position, at the opposite flank walk and run the amazing and promising Marco Asensio. Both flanked Mariano and ran the Mellila defence thin all through their stay together.

The scoreline tells a lot you should know, firstly, Melilla were terrible defensively, despite showing glimpses of life in attack prior to Madrid's opening goal, they were constantly picked out by Isco and Asensio's runs and passes.

Melilla top their group in Segunda B and are a third tier side but they should be given some credit for playing with resilience and efficiency until they were broken apart from the 33rd minute by Asensio. Prior to Asensio's goal, particular Asensio has been laying series of balls for the likes of Isco and Vinicius on a platter of gold and they kept fluffing their chances. When the minute clocked 33, Asensio found himself running into Melilla's defence and their 18yard box, he had an opportunity to pass but instead, decided to go for goal himself. For a minute, I thought if Asensio had not chosen to score himself to open the scoring rather than search for am assist, the match might have had a different outcome.

The goal opened the floodgates for goals and in less than three minutes, the ever impressive Vinicius laid a pass for Asensio to make it 2-0. After another series of missed chances, Asensio picked out central defender Javi Sanchez with a sublime pass and he cooly chipped the ball before it landed over Melilla's goalie to make it 3-0. Captain of the night, Isco scored an beautifully curler to make it 4-0.

The second half started with series of changes made in the Madrid side, Ceballos replaced Llorente, Fran Garcia replaced Dani Carvajal and Alvaro Fidalgo replaced Mariano who appeared to have picked up an injury. Vicinus would finally undo the curse that has kept him from scoring in that match as he also missed the first attempt but was on hand to score the rebound to make it 5-0 for Real. Javi Sanchez would frown and unfrown the faces of fans after he caused the penalty that saw Melilla pull a goal back, he would be let free for putting out a wonderful performance and capping it off with a goal. 5-1 appeared to be how he scoreline would end but captain of the young white ship, Sir Isco Alarcon was not yet done as he curled another finisher towards the right hand corner of the post to make it 6 for Real Madrid, a total aggregate of 10-1 and their progress to the knockout stage.

Everything seems to be falling in place for Solari at Real Madrid. The goals has been coming, even though they haven't been playing very differently, every coach needs the luck, class, efficiency and organization Solari is currently getting. The players, both old and young appear to be revived and the results ever since Solari took charge of affairs has been very far from negative. Bar the loss against Eibar in which Solari learnt a huge lesson and was forced to bring in Marcos Llorente, Real Madrid keeps getting better. I hope they retain this form for much part of the season.
