It was a joy to behold, watching Real Madrid keep a clean sheet for the second successive match and the most interesting part is that they restricted both opponents to just one shot on target in total, unbelievable.
This was the same team that conceived goals like it is normal. They were known for generosity at the back that you are certain of BTTS whenever Real Madrid is playing if you are a bettor. To our greatest surprise, Real Madrid has gone two matches without conceding a goal this season and that is one feat worthy of applauds.
Against Osasuna yesterday, we saw the beauty of Zidane unfold. Eight of the players that played against Sevilla was omitted from the match day squad and line up against Osasuna. Those players included:- Eden Hazard, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Ferland Mendy, Dani Carvajal, Raphael Varane and Thubiat Courtois. They were all replaced by Vinicius Junior, Luka Jovic, Lucas Vasquez, Fede Valverde, Nacho Fernandez, Alvaro Odriozola, Eder Militao and Areola respectively. Zidane rolled out virtually his second eleven and they perfectly got the job done, speaks volume of what a great team he has at his disposal if only they will be committed enough. And Oh! Did I forget to mention Isco, Luka Modric and Brahaim Diaz are injured? LOL
It took Real Madrid until the 36th Minute last night to open the scoring through Brazilian youngster, Vinicius Junior with the winger curling a beautiful ball into the top corner. Both teams went into half time with the score line at 1-0.
The second half continued the same way with the first. Real Madrid creating more dangers but missing their chances until Rodrygo Goes inclusion, another Brazilian winger who made it two for Real Madrid less than 2 minutes of his entry.
Real Madrid held on to win all three points and top the table after Athletic Bilbao drew with Leganese earlier yesterday. As a Real Madrid fan, I only hope this amazing displays continues.
