The arrival of Thomas Tuchel to Chelsea last year raised lots of doubts which were put off immediately by blazing performances on the pitch by the Chelsea players and Tuchel's team became one to fear.

Thomas Tuchel in an interview at some point last season told the media and everyone that he is building a team that every other team would be afraid to play against. In other words, he is building a monstrous team. We undoubtedly got a taste of how monstrous his team would be as he went on to lift the Uefa Champions League after beating Real Madrid in the Semis and Manchester City in the final; however, just like the "Sarriball" of old, the Tuchel Magic appears to be wearing out.

Last season, Chelsea were known to be a solid wall at the back. They barely conceived a goal and it was one of the reasons they had a fulfilling end of season. This season, the story is different. Not only are they shipping in goals than they did last season under Tuchel, they are scoring very less. The percentage rate of their goals last season has dropped drastically and there seem to be no improvement in sight.

Chelsea have won just one of their last five premier league games and are opportune to still be in the top four because the other teams below them are playing absolute rubbish. Manchester City lead the table with 15 points gap and look set to lift another consecutive premier league title, something Chelsea fans hoped to wrestle away from them this season.

Tuchel however has blamed fatigue for their woeful performances of late. In an interview of late, he said the players are mentally and physically tired as a result of congested fixtures and travels.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea can still win a major trophy this season but even if they don't, it will be a gentle reminder to their talkative and arrogant fans than nothing lasts forever.
