Chelsea have been quite impressive this season under Frank Lampard and have surpassed a lot of expectations before the start of the season. However, their home form this season have been really poor, their away form has been superb which has made a lot of persons to wonder where they would have been by now if they had a good enough home form ???... They would have clearly been up there in the title race. They face another tricky and difficult test at home against Burnley, a crucial game for them and a win would mean that they would maintain or increase their distance in 4th place. At the moment, they have the likes of Man United and Spurs chasing, so a win is all that is needed for them to keep the distance. The good news for them is that they are now able to make signings this transfer window and already, there are rumours and speculations flying around concerning certain players Chelsea are interested in signing this January transfer window to bolster the squad as they keep their eyes focused finishing in the top 4 and going far in the champions league this season, which will be considered a successful season for them.

Expected Formation and tactics… Chelsea will be expected to set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. They are playing at home and will be expected to keep more of the ball. However, the bridge this seasons hasn’t been a fortress for them. Notwithstanding, we should expect Chelsea to come up with a solution to get the job done at home against Burnley this Saturday.

Burnley are currently down in form at the moment, they had their moments of good form, however, their last 3 premier league games have seen them lose all 15 points. They are currently 15th on the table and stand a chance of moving up the table, however, a loss could see them drop further down the table. They will be going into this game as the underdogs. Nevertheless, they have shown that they can be a turn in the flesh against the top teams and will be going into this game to upset the Blues at the bridge.

Expected Formation and tactics… Burnley will be expected to set up in a 4-4-2 formation. Their gameplan in this game will most likely be to make life difficult for Chelsea, difficult to break down while keeping their eyes on counter-attacking chances to hurt Chelsea. They will also utilize their prowess during set-pieces as well as a weapon to upset the Blues at the bridge.
