Everton vs Manchester City

The EFL Cup mood is over for the time being and we are now getting ready for yet another exciting premier league matchday this weekend. Coming up this Saturday is matchday 7 as lots of exciting fixtures on the way. Man City who are having a great season at the moment will be going up against Everton at Goodison Park.

Everton’s start this season hasn’t been great at all as they would be disappointed to be in the kind of bad form they are in at the moment. Even though they are not in a critical situation and in fact just a point behind the teams in 7th place on the table, they would have hoped for a better start to the season in their last 5 games considering how much they have grown as a club these past few seasons. They will be hosting Man City this Saturday for their first meeting of the season, a game that promises to be a huge mountain for them to climb. However, Everton has shown in the past that they are capable of causing problems to the top sides in the premier league on their day.

This fixture is coming too soon for them at this moment they are not in a good form, however, they will be aiming to use this fixture to boost their confidence going forward if they pull off a positive result against City. Knowing what City are capable of doing, Everton will be going into this game to try to not give City any spaces at the back to penetrate and also utilizing counter-attack approach to hurt City.

Manchester City are in red hot form at the moment and are still fresh from their 8 nil thrashing of Watford last week. This fixture against Everton is a very tricky one for them even though City are expected to get the job done on paper. With how The Reds are even flying higher at the moment, City will be aiming to get the all-important 3 points against Everton this Saturday as not to further increase the game at the top. Alongside Liverpool, Man City are one of the favourites to win the league again this season, for them, they want to do better than what they achieved last season.

Since Pep likes his teams to play in a certain way especially against lesser oppositions, we are all expecting City to have more of the ball and try to cut open Everton with their clever passing and movements.

What do you think will be the outcome of this fixture?

I would love to read your thoughts and opinions… Enjoy your day.
