It's been a couple of days and time to bring some news updates on what has been happening in the Belgian Jupiler League off-season...

BELGIAN LEAGUE OFF-SEASON NEWS UPDATE

Vargas Signs For Oostende

32-year-old attacking midfielder Ronald Vargas (Ex Anderlecht & Ex Club Brugge) will be back in the Jupiler League after he signed for 1 season with KV Oostende. His wife is from the coast area and they wanted to come back to Belgium. He was known as a very creative player that suffered from quite a lot of injuries.


First Summer Transfer Kv Kortrijk

Nihad Mujakic joins KV Kortrijk as a new central defender. He was already bought in January but loaned out. The 21-year-old defender from Bosnia is seen as a big talent and Genk also had him on their radar.


Belhocie new Coach Charleroi

Anderlecht T2 was signed as new head coach of Charleroi. It is said that he didn't feel good with all the changes in Anderlecht where he went to the T3 Spot. This looks like a deal where everyone is happy. Charleroi first tried to get Vanhaezebroeck and Luka Elsner who they weren't able to get.


Season 2019-2020 Calendar Release

July 1st will be the day when the official calendar will be released. up to this point, it's not 100% sure yet who will play in the 1st division. This should become official 25th of June. in case it takes longer, the teams that switch will just take over the matches that were planned. regardless of what happens, the league will be played with 16 teams.


Mikael Lustig To AA Gent

32-year-old Swedish international who played 8 years for Celtic Mikael Lustig will come over transfer free to AA Gent.


Fabien Mercadal New Coach Cercle

It looked like he was going to be the new coach and the news is now official. I'm not sure about his play style but give the fact that he used to be a defender and comes over from France I expect a rather organized approach with a lot of discipline.
