Virgil van Dijk kicked the Netherlands yesterday to the Final 4 of the Nations League with a goal in the final minutes. The Dutchman also gave the grieving referee a heart afterwards.

After the last whistle, Van Dijk went to the Romanian ref Ovidiu Hategan. "He told me that his mother died," says Van Dijk to Fox Sports.

"The referee got a hard time and started to cry, I wished him my condolences and said he had a good game it's a small gesture, but I hope it helped."

Hategan was told during the break of Germany-Netherlands that his mother had died. The Romanian referee continued and led the second half in good jobs.

All the best to him and his family. Scorumlove!
