Marchis hit a long ranger to draw level.

After the loss to Sevilla the last time out, the headline was 'Diego Simeone suffers 3rd-straight defeat for the first time in 11 years in charge of Atletico'. Well, it got even worse as Granada CF handed them their 4th straight loss of the season.

Granada hosted Atletico de Madrid in a La Liga Santandér fixture on Wednesday night and enjoyed a 2-1 victory over La Rojiblancos.

Portuguese star João Felix had given the away side an early lead with a controlled finish in the 2nd minute of the game. It didn't take long, however, before Darwin Marchis hit an unbelievable long-range strike to draw level in the 17th minute.

The game progressed with the scores level until Jorge Molina dealt Atletico the killer blow in the 61st minute. 2-1 the scoreline. This victory over Atletico was Granada's first in a run of 25 games dating back to 1973.

More Pressure on Diego Simeone.

Manager Diego Simeone now faces increased pressure from the fans and the Spanish media for his team's poor form.

Simeone has to turn things around real quick

Known for their solidity at the back, Simeone's side has shipped in 22 goals in 18 league games, keeping just 5 clean sheets in the process. In contrast, they allowed in just 8 goals at the same stage last season. Poor at the back😬😬

The champions are nowhere near the champions area as they currently find themselves in the bottom half of the league standings, 12th on the log.

The next game against Rayo Vallecano is an ample opportunity for them to turn their fortunes around. That game is built for Sunday afternoon.
