Everybody at Chelsea (the fans, manger and those in administration) should be worried right now. Three key players have been linked with a move away from Stamford bridge. Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard have both been linked with Real Madrid and Willian is now being linked with Barcelona. It seems that its only a matter of time before Courtois leave. And Hazard and Willian might follow suit. As a result, I've decided to look at the replacements Chelsea could sign to replace these players.
PLAYERS TO REPLACE COURTOIS
Courtois's contract expires next summer and it's only logical for Chelsea to sell him now than risk him leaving for free. Below are the list of goalkeepers that could replace him at the club.
KEYLOR NAVAS
Real Madrid can encourage Chelsea to sell Courtois by allowing Keylor Navas to go the other way. Navas is a fantastic goalkeeper and his displays at the just concluded World Cup where he made about 10 saves against Brazil alone. An excellent candidy to replace Courtois.
GIANLUIGI DONNARUMMA
Now this is an interesting choice. The 19year old broke into AC Milan's first team at 16 and he has not looked back since. Milan may be willing to sell due to their FFP issue. He's definitely got talent and will only improve. He's still young though so Chelsea might not be sure about how he will adapt to the EPL but a fantastic choice if they want a goalkeeper that can stand within the sticks for the next decade or so.
JAN OBLAK
This is a no risk purchase. Oblak is definitely worldclass plus he's young.This guy keeps about 24 clean sheets(in the league alone). Persuading Atletico to sell him will no be easy task. He has a release clause of £87million. I doubt Atletico will sell him for less and I don't think Chelsea will meet that price. But if Chelsea can somehow get their hands on him, they won't miss Courtois at all.
Others options to replace Courtois include Barcelona goalkeeper Cillisen, Leicester goalkeeper Schmeichel among others.
REPLACEMENTS FOR HAZARD
Now this is tough one. Chelsea cannot get a direct replacement for Hazard. The best they can do is to get talented youngster and nurture him to greatness. After all, Hazard wasn't made in a day. Below are the list of players that could replace the Belgian should he leave:
HIRVING LOZANO
A talented young player. We all saw what he can do at the World Cup. He's fast, has a similar play to Eden Hazard and prefers playing on the left. His lack of experience might be an issue given last season was his first in Europe but then under the right guidance, Chelsea might have a World Class player in their hands in no time.
LEON BAILEY
I first got to know this guy through football manager. Bailey is what we FM players will describe as a true 'Wonderkid' meaning a young player with immeny potential. He's young and raw and will require a lot of guidance and patience to nurture him into a superstar.
GARETH BALE
Yes Bale moving to Chelsea is very unlikely but if Chelsea do find a way to get him, it will be a case of replacing a world class player with another. Chelsea probably won't be able to match his hefty wages and his injury record is another issue.
PLAYERS TO REPLACE WILLIAN
With Barcelona set to sign Malcolm, it seems they may no longer sign Willian. But should he leave the club, below are the players that could replace him:
GOLOVIN: Well, its been reported that Chelsea will only sell Willian if they get Golovin. Golovin was impressive at the just concluded World Cup. He's young and can play through the middle or on the left.
MARTIAL
The younger been tipped to be next big thing in football but he obviously has not realized that potential. He's good and full of tricks. Convincing United to sell him might not be too difficult but then signing him means putting a lot of faith in him.
