We have been without football for a few months now, our local league in Honduras was definitely suspended, so it is kind of good to see several leagues starting playing once more. The German league, the Portuguese league and here in Central America the Costa Rica league.

I am actually not a keen follower of any of these leagues, I much prefer the Premier League but if they are all I can have I am more than willing to watch. Unfortunately the German league is not carried by any of the sports channels my local cable provider has available, so I am at the moment limited to Portugal and Costa Rica.

And you can see the results of the lock down in these games, players are committing some howlers that it is even funny to watch, the goal keepers have given away all kinds of weird goals, but I guess this is to be expected, first of all playing without a crowd must be even creepy, and then physically no player is in tip top shape.

I am waiting for the Italian league to re start, I want to see if Cristiano Ronaldo has felt these days of not training or playing, you know the guy is amazing he is after all 35 years old and physically he has been around 100% always. But this shutdown has to have hurt him, well we will see when they play again. Messi has never been to physical so I expect to not see him in good shape, but maybe he pulls a fast one and shows up in excellent form.

In any case it is good to know that in sports things are starting to go back to normal even if the fans are only club pennants on the chairs, like in the Benfica-Tondela game.
