It's no more news that football enthusiasts around the globe are patiently waiting for who will emerge as the bigger figure after the reign of Messi and Ronaldo. The duo have dominated the space for over a decade and have continued to make headlines in recent times. However, with age beginning to set in and their strength beginning to wane, younger stars are already warming up to take over. For some time now, some names of possible future best players have been making the rounds, among them being Neymar Jr of Brazil, Eden Hazard of Belgium, Kylian Mbappe of France and more recently, Ansu Fati of Barcelona etc. Going by Social media opinions and predictions I have been seeing, Kylian Mbappe seems to top the chart of becoming the next in line after Lionel Messi and Ronaldo's era. With doubts hovering over the possibility of Neymar hitting that level, Kylian appears the most likely to mount the iron throne.
But There Is A Big Question Mark?
No doubt, Kylian have got everything needed to put him on the throne in the next decade, but most fans feel it's gonna be hard for him to get to the pinnacle if he doesn't leave PSG and sign up for Barcelona or Real Madrid. You will recall that apart from Christiano Ronaldo who won the Ballon d'or in 2008 at Manchester United under Alex Ferguson, the subsequent winners of that prize have only emerged from Spain(Barca and Madrid). No player from another league have been able to beat them to that prize for over a decade and it's becoming something of a mystery. What's so special about playing in Barcelona or Real Madrid, what do they do that other top teams can't do? So many questions that have continued to raise dusts and most times without any cogent answer. However, these two clubs have a way of remaining top in producing best players of the year and the stats don't lie. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why Hazard moved to Madrid and Neymar trying to force his return to Barcelona. Kylian just received the award for French Player of the year and also came fourth in the just concluded Ballon d'or ceremony and he is just 20. With all his qualities, fans still think he can't become the best player of his era if he does not make a move to either Madrid or Barcelona. What's your take on this?
