The Spanish champions have continued to go on a decline in terms of performance and dreadfulness. That monstrous nature of Barcelona dismantling teams day in day out across Europe is gradually fizzling away, and the Catalan giant's future is now sitting on a keg of gunpowder, especially with the likes of Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Pique etc approaching their retirement age. While most sports analysts have continued to heaped all the blame on the incumbent manager of the Club, Ernesto Valverde, I think it goes beyond Valverde. For me, Barcelona needs an overhaul administratively, and I think the current President of the Club Joep Bartomeu should resign. Even if it means casting a vote of no confidence on Bartomeu, it will be a good step in the right direction, before it gets to late. There is a saying that, "If you want to kill a tree, chopping off it's branches may not be the best option. You go to the root and uproot the tree, that way, it's a death blow." We can't continue blaming only Valverde who seem to have found favour under Bartomeu. He has refused to fire Ernesto Valverde despite last season's disappointing outing in the Champions league.

Why Do I Think President Bartomeu Is A Huge Contributor To Barcelona's Recent Woes?

The Current State Of The La Masia Academy is Worrisome!

We all know that Barcelona's Football academy is one of the best if not the best in the entire Europe. For years now, The academy have produced the best footballers the game have ever seen. You can talk about Carlos Puyol, Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez, Fabregas, Sergio Busquets etc... These are players that most clubs in Europe will break their bank to buy and they're all products of the academy. The transition of academy players into the senior team is one of the best strategies that Barcelona uses to maintain their style of play, which is almost the best if not the best. It ensured that the Catalan side never ran out of players to replace the aging or retiring ones. The coaches had very little work to do because these players already know themselves from the academy and they understand the pattern of the squad even before promotion. However, under Josep Bartomeu, the La Masia seems to have been declining and most of it's graduates are now seen playing for other clubs. You can talk about talented players like Sergio Gomez, Grimaldo Alejandro etc. The presidents eagerness to sign more foreign players into the squad have led to a little abandonment of La Masia, a step that may kill off everything Johan Cryuff worked for. I think he is generally bad at business and is expending the Club's fund without getting much impact. The jumbo sum spent in buying Dembele and even Grizemann shows his ineptitude in business. Even the money he spent to buy Coutinho from Liverpool seems to be a big waste. Buying of Galactico's have always been Real Madrid's culture and not Barcelona. Our best players used to be mined from the academy or at least, most of Barcelona's players. For me, it's a vote of "No Confidence" on Bartomeu and I hope he resigns for the Future of the Club.
