The New Covid-19 virus no doubt has had serious negative effect on clubs as regards to their finances and most especially the market value of even their players of African descent. With the present state of confinement imposed by the corona virus pandemic, without question, the market value of some players has dropped.
Transfermarket has produced the rankings of the most expensive players of African descent plying their trade in Europe. Among the Africans, EPL players top the list, having it represented by Mané and Salah leading the pack of top 7.
As we all know, even countries not just clubs are in financial distress and have already made pronouncements of being in recession if not in the red already. However, the covid-19 does not seem to have affected on Liverpool nor on the retinue of their attackers. Between the duo of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané, they are estimated to still be worth a whooping 120 million euros each.
Following the Anfield stars are Kalidou Koulibaly of Naples who is estimated to be worth 70 million euros, while Arsenal striker and the Gabonese International Emerick Aubameyang is still quite of immense market value with an estimate of 56 million euros. The football star from Africa occupaying the seventh position with is non other than the Algerian international Riyad Mahrez.
It is a good thing that despite the Covid-19 pandemic has no end in sight and the fact that no cure or vaccine has been tentatively found yet, transfer news continue to trick down on daily basis. In my opinion, this is a sign that the next season is going to be packed with lots of exciting encounters. Although most of the estimates proffered above have not been realized yet and the transfer deals have not been concluded yet, it is worth noting that clubs have not been demoralized with the present situation. Also, the value of football stars have not plummeted as expected by football analysts.
