This weekend we took another big step towards the top of the charts. At home against Kjellerup IF we won 1-0 on a goal scored by our striker, Viktor Ahlmann, just 11 minutes into the match.
It was our fourth win in the league this season and our second clean sheet. We have three draws as well, but are still undefeated, now seven games into the season. Nevertheless, it is a very competitive league and every single game is tight. The players have to keep focus and give their all every single minute of every single game.
This was the case against Kjellerup IF this weekend as well. It was one of those games where you keep sitting on the edge of the chair, even though you feel in control of the game at the same time. The early goal meant that we took charge, but our opponents are good when in possession of the ball, same as are we, so it was a very tight game. Actually, the first half was not our best. We did not create much and made too many mistakes when we tried to build our play. We did, however, not give much away either, as our organization was solid with everyone giving their best.
As we went for the break at half time 1-0 up, absolutely nothing was therefore settled and the match was still very open. In the second half, we tried our best to get that second goal in the game to kill any hopes Kjellerup IF may have had to tie the game as fast as possible. We created much more, but we just could not find the net for that second time. Two times, one of our more creative offense players Sead Gavranovic hit the woodwork and in between, we had three one-on-one's with the keeper.
As a consequence to not getting that extra goal, there were quite a few nervous fans in the crowd as the game moved closer to the final whistle. Actually Kjellerup IF came close to an equalizer with just a few minutes left of the official game time. Our keeper Emil Kobberup, however, where on alert even though he had had a fairly quiet game. It was a big chance, but Emil kept us ahead in the game with a fine save and at the end the three points were ours.
On this day, it was not tiki-taka or pure joga bonito. It was hard work, dedication and teamwork, and it payed off in the end with important three points as a reward.
Now the players only have two days until there is a game again. A win in that one will bring the team up to 1st place, so send some good vibes in the direction of Denmark and The Blue Wave from The Bay, Jammerbugt FC.

My name is Thomas Jansen and my history with the club starts back in my childhood, where I at a young age started playing for the club. I have been doing so ever since. Unfortunately, I do not play that much anymore, but instead I am active outside the field.
For the last ten years, I have been taking care of many different tasks in and around Jammerbugt FC. To name a few, I have been taking care of the clubs foreign players, assisting with players contracts and registration, coordinated logistics associated with the 1st team, worked with sponsorship, the brand of club and the development of the club in general. All as part of the clubs great team of people working behind the scene.
These days I am in charge of communications associated with the clubs first team and the under 17 and under 19 academy teams. Still, just like when I started as a 6 year old, I do it with great passion for soccer in general and for Jammerbugt FC in particular.
