One of the best things about pre-season is that we get to see teams which would most likely never face each other meet up in friendly matches. While not meeting each other does not mean that any of them is in the least inferior to the other, it simply means that the chances of meeting most times are very slim. For this reason, the match between the French champions PSG and the developing giants Inter Milan. Most teams have experienced changes during the summer and these changes can define the outcome of their next match and their entire season.

PSG

For PSG, the beats go down in what has been a failed project. That project kicked off when they made the bold move to purchase Neymar from Barcelona in what was then the transfer record fee in sensational fashion. However, with PSG having to win the champions league and their star Neymar seeking leave to rejoin his former club, things are not looking that heavenly for PSG at the moment. With their other star Mbappe also looking towards a future move to the likes of Real Madrid, it is clear that PSG could be in for a complete revamp from their current crop of the squad. Another big change would also be the return of Buffon to Juventus after just a single season with the French champions. Coming into this preseason then, they would be aware that they have quite a job on their hands.

Inter Milan

Inter Milan are not in the running to win the Serie A this season. However, they are pulling together quite a squad which many believe would be able to compete with Juventus for the ultimate crown in seasons to come. One of their stars would no doubt be the Argentinian forward Mauro Icardi who is largely considered to be one of the best strikers in the world right now. It is believed that Inter Milan’s ability to build a great squad around him could be the key to improving their chances in world football. However, for now, their present form would be on their minds.

Form

The match which is set to be played in the Macau Olympic stadium would be between two sides who have been fairly average when it comes to their recent forms. PSG for example while having lost just once in their last six games to Reims have also won just thrice drawing twice in the process. This just shows that more work could be put into their general gameplay and their mentality right now.

The story is not that different from the team from Milan who has won just three games also. It gets worse for them as they have lost twice and drawn once in the process. Their last game ended in a draw against Juventus. The friendly match against PSG would be a time to evaluate themselves just before the new season comes knocking on the door. Hopefully, the result would be favorable.
