The La Liga is still some way ahead in this month. However, friendly matches are slowly coming to an end. Most teams are ready. Most teams have completely gotten all the players that they believe would be needed to challenge for their goals and aspirations. Most teams and players are completely fit. For this reason, most teams are now playing the very last friendly matches and they would want to come out high and with their morale boosted. This is the situation in which Real Madrid find themselves. They would need to play well when they meet Salzburg in what should be one of their last if not their least friendly of the preseason.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid does not seem ready. This is a shocking realization because the club has given Zidane the free role in the club and most of the players that they would have wanted has been secured. However, that looks very well the case going by the results which they have gotten in the pre-season. Also, Arsenio who had been tipped to have a good season this time around is out for quite a while with an injury which he picked up when they played Arsenal earlier on in the ICC. Real Madrid can't afford not to do well this season. For their coach Zidane, that could mean the difference between glory and a disgraceful sack under his second regime as a coach. Their opponents Salzburg have been quite entertaining in their pre-season game.

Salzburg

Salzburg has been winning matches for fun. Except for their 5-3 loss to Chelsea, they haven't lost any game in quite a while. This might seem to be a good thing and can boost their confidence more than teams might realize. They would surely look to the game against Madrid as an opportunity to show that they are not pushovers and many players would also want to showcase their talents to Real Madrid hence their desire to play well. It surely would be an interesting thing to see.

Form

Talking about their form, Salzburg's been flawless all preseason long. Five wins on the bounce before the match against Chelsea and they would be happy with all that they have achieved. At this point, playing Real Madrid would surely not look as daunting as it would have looked like the start of pre-season. It is sadly not the same situation for the former champions of Europe.

Four losses, a single win, and draw. Those are the stats which Real Madrid would have to contend with heading into this game. It is awful and some improvements would surely have to make soon. The game against Salzburg would present the perfect chance and atmosphere to turn their luck around. Not winning this game would further reinforce the idea that there could be a problem with the squad. With Madrid having spent millions and with star players from around the world, that would be unacceptable.

We can only wait and see what time would bring for the Spanish club.
