The Spanish League often referred to as the La Liga had also kicked off like the premier league. If we thought we saw drama in the EPL, there was even more drama in the Spanish league as results shocked the world in the first round of games. Now, many teams would have the chance to correct their first round of games. They would want to prove that those games were merely a hiccup in what they would be able to achieve this season. One of such teams that would be top of that list would be the defending champions Barcelona. With so much to play for in this second match, they cannot afford to make a mistake.
Barcelona
Barcelona would have thought that they would have an easy ride this season. However, a 1-0 loss in opening day exposed their vulnerabilities in this competition. However, their excuse would be that they did not have their talisman Messi in the team that day neither has their new signing Griezman have any chance of forming useful partnerships with his teammates on the pitch. While that may be the case, it would still be painful to them. Suarez was also removed in that game, having injured himself earlier on. This game against Real Betis might just see Messi come into the fold and with it a Barcelona side who would play great football. Real Betis should be afraid.
Real Betis
Real Betis sit just above Barcelona in the table in 15th place. This is all thanks to their first loss too in the league. They would have loved to win this match as the game against Barcelona would surely be an impossible one for them. Their task has been compounded by the fact that they play the champions in their home and Messi is set to be back in action following the injury that kept him out of the game. Real Betis might just be on the wrong end of a hammering as Barcelona come into this game licking their wounds after losing their first game. Messi would surely want to heal that wound.

With the season still so early to call or predict anything, it would be risky to take their form into any serious consideration of their form. However, we cannot ignore the fact that Barcelona lost their opening game and so did Real Betis. A loss here for either team could do real damage to their ambitions this season. Barcelona would be aware their arch-rivals Real Madrid would want to make it two wins out of two. Dropping any points here would surely solidify their grip on the league at this time of the season. That would surely be disastrous for them.
La Liga is sure to be exciting this season. With trophies here to be won and players itching to score goals, you can sit back in anticipation of a wonderful season. With Messi and his men leading the way, magic is in the air.
