The weeks have started to roll once again as other teams and leagues in Europe have roared back into action. One of the last out of the popular leagues to do this would the Serie A also is known as the Italian league. With legendary clubs making their way to their stadium, with old faces and old rivals and new faces and new expectations, the anticipation is red hot once more. Juventus and Napoli who are considered to be the top contenders for the title have already started their campaigns wins. However one of the dark horses for the title in Inter Milan would face their chances this season. They would have to start with an impressive performance against Lecce.
Inter Milan
Inter Milan has surely made moves to improve themselves this summer. Top of the list would be the purchase of Lukaku who comes in after a row with his former club Manchester United. However, if anything should be taken about his preseason is that he has slotted right into the mix with his new team. On his debut match, he managed to get 4 goals in a single match. That would surely be a source of excitement to the fans. However, it remains to be seen if he would feature in this game. They would be confident that they would prove too strong for Lecce at the end of the day.
Lecce
Lecce would surely have wanted their start this season to be on the front foot. They would surely have prayed that they would face opposition which was closer to their quality. However, what they got for a first match was a game against an Inter Milan side which has surely be rejuvenated. One thing is clear; it would surely be a test for them. The fact that the game is poised to be played at the Giuseppe Meazza would not make anything better for this team.
Form
Despite the wave of optimism which wound surely be in Inter's camp at the moment, their form is yet to live up to it. However, most people would argue that the form of preseason most times would have little or no bearing on how things would turn out at the end of the day. With four draws and just two wins, Inter Milan would surely want that saying to be true on their account. A win here would at the very least allow them to keep pace with Juventus and Napoli in what is sure to be a very long season for those clubs.
Lecce have enjoyed a great run of form recently and would be oddly entering this game with more momentum. However, all that can slip away with just one mistake. However, as we all know, football is an unpredictable game and everything can turn around in a block of an eye. For the players from Lecce, they would surely be hoping that this happens in this game. If it doesn’t, they would be hoping for a miracle to bail them out.
