When it comes to playing in competitions, one thing that is for sure that teams would have to go through the qualifying stage. One of the toughest would surely be the European qualifiers. It is therefore not surprising to see many well-placed teams lose out at the end of the day, in a group where everyone probably expected them to win. In this year's qualifier, one group that would surely be watched closely would be F. Malta and Sweden sees just two of the six teams that would be struggling to make it out of the group. Getting any of those would give them a great boost in their fight to get to the competition of their dreams.
Sweden
Sweden is a growing team. There is absolutely no doubt about that and getting to the tournament would be the ultimate goal in their heads. While this is true, there is always the trouble of complacency that comes to play when facing smaller team. Malta would be a prime example of such a team and Sweden would have to be careful. Their position in their group would be satisfying as they are second just behind Spain. Currently, on four points, they would at least maintain their position if they were to win Malta tomorrow. It surely would be entertaining to see how they would go about this game.
Malta
Malta is a classic example of a team struggling to make it in Europe. Always surrounded by the top countries, they have struggled to make it to any competitions in Europe. This could pose a big problem for them and one which they would be eager to change. In their group, they have done pretty well for themselves. They sit 4th due to their win they have accumulated in the league. They would be aware that they have already lost the chance of gaining maximum points from the group due to an early loss. Winning this game against Sweden could see them shoot up to second in their fight for qualification. This is however subject to other results playing positively for them. Playing Sweden though won’t be the easiest game to deal with.
Form
Sweden has been in fantastic form in recent times. Remaining undefeated in their last six games and their confidence levels would surely be at an all-time high. It has been amazing for this team and they would feel that things can only get better from here on. The game against Malta could be yet another game where they can stamp their progress in the case of development.
Malta has not had the same level of glory in these past few weeks. In fact, Malta has just won a game during this period. They are simply struggling at the point. During this period, they have also lost three of those games. A win against Sweden would be a good way to get their chances back in track. There is still light at the end of the tunnel. This could just be their way back.
