Mauro Icard's wife and agent, Wanda Nara, confirmed that the attacker's choice was always to stay at Inter.
The Nerazzurri captain is currently under a multi-year contract with the club and says there is still a 110m-euro release clause in his contract.
But, the Italian club is working intensively for a new contract with the Argentine star, who also wants to continue the stand.
"Staying in a club for a long time is an added value," said Wanda, his wife and Icard agent for Canale 5.
"His choice has always been to stay at Inter, and fans admit it."
"Having examples like [Javier] Zanetti in Inter and [Francesco] Totti in Roma is an added value and good for anyone who comes to the club."
Wanda also talked about Icard's career at Argentina's national team and his partnership with Paulo Dybalan and Juventus.
"In Argentina, Dybala is seen as a champion. He played several minutes with Mauron in the last match for the Argentine national team and they did well. "
"He and Icardi will be the top two in the future," said the well-known model and Inter's striker's wife.
