Things continue to fall apart for crystal palace. They suffered yet another defeat at Stamford bridge against the blues.
Their last premier league game, where they played Arsenal in what seemed to be like the eagles were about to fly. They pulled up a wonderful performance to secure a much needed point in a 2-2 draw. With the eagles captain Milivojevic converting two spot kicks. Since then Roy Hodgson's side has suffered two loses consecutively, a one nil loss to Middlesbrough in the EpL and the most recent one to Chelsea.
Chelsea came into the game to continue their excellent form of 12 wins and 3 draws in all competitions. Morata started with the absence of Giroud, and Ross Barkley coming to the starting line up in place of kovacic. Crystal palace came into the game with hopes of picking from their performance against arsenal in Match day 10. Their star man Zaha was in the starting line up, whose quick feet kept troubling the Chelsea defence throughout the game.
The Game
Just three minutes into the game, Wilfred zaha found himself in shooting position, but his effort was blocked by the defence for a corner. After over half an hour of tussle, it was the blues who finally broke the dead luck in the 32rd minute, through Alvaro morata who received a pass from Pedro inside the eagles box and slammed home into the bottom corner, leaving the goalkeeper helpless. Before the break Chelsea had some half chances but couldn't convert any.
Second half began, crystal palace were still looking positive, and 8 minutes into the half it was time for the eagles to soar, crystal palace got their equalizer. Andro Townsend collects a beautiful pass from McArthur that tore the Chelsea defence and he buried the ball into the bottom left corner. At this point hopes were restored and Hodgsons men would feel they could steal a point. But the story soon changed, 65 minutes into the game, it was morata yet again to make the scoreline 2:1, he found the net with a nice directed shot into the right corner, to pile up problems for the eagles. Five minutes later, chelsea got their third, Alonso sets Pedro up who makes no mistake in hitting the net. All the Eagles effort to get something from the game were unproductive and the eagles could only shake their heads in disappointment.
Watch the match highlight, in the video below;
The groaning for Roy Hodgson continues, they seat 14th in the premier league table with just 2 points off the drop zone, loosing five out of their last six games.
Right now, the manager has to go back to the drawing board, as they kind of lack the winning mentality, which they need before the party gets over for them.
My word for palace city
It's never late to achieve what you want to achieve
The sky is wide open for the eagle to soar to the highest height
"Don't let the sound of your wheels make you crazy"
