The 12th edition of LA Cup was inaugurated from 24th November and organized by Little Angels College at Hattiban, Nepal. It is the inter-college competition is for Bachelor's level student. Total 32 teams participated in the competition and were grouped into two pools A and B. Yesterday, the pre-quarterfinals round was finished.

Today I got called from my college juniors from Pulchowk Campus and went to watch and support them in their quarterfinal round. They won their round of 32 against Nesfield College by 2-1 and won against Sagarmatha College by 3-2 in the round of 16. Today they played against B team of Kathmandu University. For my Juniors, It was the perfect opportunity to take a revenge against the team whom they lost in the final of Madan Bhandari Memorial Football Tournament organized by Kathmandu University on May 2018. last year, I was also on the squad list of Pulchowk Campus of the 11th edition of L.A. Cup but we couldn’t pass through the quarter-final stage. Since this year I've completed my Bachelor's degree I'm not eligible to play in this competition. Today's game was the battle between the top 2 Universities of Nepal, Tribhuvan University and Kathmandu University. Sadly our boys lost the game by 2-0.

The game started at a great pace, the Kathmandu University started to attack from the beginning of the match and scored the first goal within the first 5 minutes. Dilip Neupane, keeper of Pulchwk Campus has failed to punch the half volley attempted by jersey number 17 of the Kathmandu University(Sorry I don’t know the name of the player) which went into the Pulchowk's goalpost. After that, both teams try to play the build-up game but none of their attempts were successful. Our boys couldn’t break the last line of Kathmandu University's defense, the Kathmandu University's goal-keeper hardly touch the ball in the first half. When referee was about to blow the first half whistle, Kathmandu University scored the goal and stretched their lead to two goals in the first half. The jersey number 7 scored in a rebound after Jersey number 11 shot was return hitting on the post.

The shot captured by me from outside the touchline :D

In the second half, Pulchowk Campus team Manager Prashant Dahal made the early substitution with a hope of a comeback in the game. Our boys continuously pressed at the front and made some wonderful moves but couldn’t keep their attempts on target. As I notice their only one shot went on target which was comfortably saved by Kathmandu University’s goalkeeper. The second half couldn’t produce any goal and Kathmandu University won the game by 2-0. Despite having lots of possession on the ball and giving their best on the fields Pulchowk lost the game. The impact of the absence of two regular starting XI player Abhishek Aryal and Gaurav Bastola who missed the match due to injury was clearly seen on Pulchowk’s front line today. A lost in today's match knocked out Pulchowk Campus from the competition. Hope our Juniors will not disappoint us in the Inter-technical Football Tournament which will start from February 2019.
