The English league is just three games out and a lot of players has already stepped up and shown what they could do. They have been surprised by the performance given by players who have been known to perform by the standards they are performing now while some proven players have performed lesser than they are known for.
As I said it is just three games into the English league and some players are still rusty while others are still finding their feet in a new league. Players such as Lukaku of Chelsea has played just two games and he has performed well against a top team but did not hit that standard in his second start. More is expected from a player Chelsea splashed 90 million to acquire his signature.
Players such as Antonio of Westham has been brilliant this season and he has contributed a goal and assist in all three matches played this season and that has helped his team stationed at the second position on the log table. While the 31-year-old has four goals and three assists so far, many expect him to add to that tally as the season proceeds.
Fernandez might have his work cut out for him this season as he has Manchester United signed a lot of quality players to take out a big chunk of his workload. That has not stopped him from performing excellently well this season as he has three goals in three matches, and he is yet to have an assist. When the league resumes, it is expected for those tallies to grow as he will be lining out with the greatest player at his corner.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding Pogba future at the theatre of dreams, his performances so far don’t suggest that wants a move away from the club. Five assists from just three games are a lot especially from a player who such isn’t expected from. He has also set a target for himself and it is believed to be achievable in as much as he doesn’t let his current performance dip.
Tottenham is top of the league's table at the moment after getting nine points from three games. The scoreline has been 1-0 so far and that shows how organised the Spurs defence has been in this current campaign. Eric Deir has been the top man in the defensive position for the team as he has more interceptions and clearance from the Spurs backline. The spurs team remains un-breached thanks to their defensive set-up, but Deir deserves the most glory as he has given more.
They have always been a debate on who the best English player is but with just three games into a new season, Greenwood has quashed and set himself apart from his pairs. Scoring in every match he has played is a sign of a player who has an eye for goal, and he has been consistent this season. The likes of Foden and Saka who has regularly been compared to him stands no chance at the moment and that shows a top man quality from the player.
While Chelsea might have conceded a goal from a penalty in a match against Liverpool this season, their backline has been superb and one player who has given the most has been the goalkeeper. Keeping two clean sheets so far and conceding one from the penalty spot shows the top quality the player has. He further flexed his skills as the team played 10 men against a Liverpool team that has all their players to call from. Making six saves in total and getting a point for Chelsea in that match will be his highlight for this game played so far in the league.
Other notable mentions are the likes of Gray (former Leicester play) who plays for Everton now as he has gotten two match-winning goals in three games the Toffees. Vardy also has continued to play like a man on steroids and his performance this season has seen him bang two goals in three matches for the fox and more is expected of him. Son of Spurs has also seen his stock rises as he scored two goals for Spurs and those goals were match-winning goals for his side and his goals alone have helped Spurs claimed a total of six goals so far.
I know a lot of players also performed well but at the time of writing this piece, these are the players who I can think of and I will be glad if you could jog my memory into remembering the others by mentioning names of players who has also done well so far.
