Having put in his best since joining from Wolfsburg in 2015, Kevin De Bruyne has risen to become the best midfielder in England and arguably the number 1 worldwide also. His performances for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City this season has been top notch and he's turned out to be the game changer against various teams including Real Madrid in the first leg of their Uefa Champions League fixture back in February.

In the first leg played at the Santiago Bernabeu (Real's home), he certainly showed his brilliance as he stood out above all other players with a goal and an assist for Gabriel Jesus to help City win 1-2. And although it's been 3 months since that fixture went down, Kevin still seems on top of his game and is no doubt gonna be the key man once again come Friday, 7th of August at the Ethihad stadium.

The Belgian scored 13 goals and made 20 assists in the just concluded English premier league and finished as the 2nd highest provider in Europe's top five leagues behind Lionel Messi and Thomas Muller who jointly occupy the top spot with 21 each.

With the rate at which he's been scoring in recent weeks, I don't see anyone being able to stop Kevin in the Madrid squad especially with Captain, Sergio Ramos set to miss the fixture after getting a red card in the reverse fixture.

Well, that's just my opinion. I'll like to hear yours though. Do you think De Bruyne's performance could hand City the win against the newly crowned La Liga champions or do you feel that Real's experience in the Uefa competition would be enough for them to progress even without their famous Captain ?? Do let me know your thoughts in the comments. From me, its goodbye for now.
