The FIFA Best Awards ceremony was held on Thursday night with several legends and soccer stars all being present. The most coveted prize was the FIFA World's Best Player and the shortlisted nominees were non other than Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski.

As expected by most fans across the world, Lewandowski took home the prize ahead of Messi and Ronaldo. It was very much deserved after a splendid performance by him last season and helping his team to the Uefa Champions League, German Bundesliga and DFB Pokal.

Other awardees in the men's category were Manuel Neuer for best goalkeeper ahead of Jan Oblak and Alisson Becker. Heung Min Son took home the puskas award for his splendid goal for Tottenham against Burnley. Jürgen Klopp wasn't left out as he was also named The Best Manager Of The Year.

Lewandowski who has continued his extremely stunning form into the new season on Wednesday, scored his 250th goal in the German Bundesliga to help Bayern to an important win. After being presented the award, he had this to say: "If you win such an award and share that title with Messi and Ronaldo, that is unbelievable and it means so much to me. A long time ago, I remember I was longing for something like this and now I can win such and award. This really means, regardless of where you come form, all that matters is what you put into it."

It was a wonderful night for the forward and with his form this season, it wouldn't be off to say that he still stands a very good chance of winning this award again next year. Congrats to Robert Lewandowski
