The Los Blancos went into Saturday's game knowing that a loss or draw could throw them off course in this season's title race. They were the home side in that fixture and of course, that meant a lot of confidence as they sought a win to go level on point with Athletico Madrid in 1st place even if only temporarily.

It didn't work out as planned for them though as silly errors, failed counter-attacks and a good Real Betis defence was enough to keep the scoreline at 0-0 by the end of 90 minutes.

Various chances came for both sides with Rodrygo hitting the crossbar early in the second half and Karim Benzema coming close on various occasions for Real. Betis also saw some clear cut chances denied by Thibaut Courtois' brilliance in goal. Vinicius Jr would definitely feel the weight of this draw almost more than any other Real Madrid player given the fact that he got some of the clearest chances for his side and squandered them all.

Nevertheless, it was a good game by all standards and it would only mean that Real Madrid would need to put in more effort and intercede for a bit of luck if they're to win this year's Spanish League title.
