Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford turned out to be the main hero of England's encounter against Colombia. He saved one penalty and made the opponents his the bar later on. Pickford's teammates but for Henderson were great on penalties, but still could have lost.

On the whole the game was evenly contested and quite slow paced. Both teams wanted to keep a clean sheet more than to score. A penalty converted by Harry Kane turned him into the top scorer. But with just seconds to go Mina managed to equalize taking the teams to the additional time. Penalty shootout followed after a goalless draw in extra time.

Columbia was a bit more unlucky and lost in spite of Ospina saving a penalty from Henderon.

England goes to the quarterfinals to face Sweden.
