Manchester city came out like lightning and thunder, and already after six minutes of play, Riyad Mahrez made it 1-0 for the home team when he was played free by Kevin de Bruyne, and then Mahrez safely put the ball in the net.

After 22 minutes, City extended the lead to 2-0 when Riyad Mahrez was back in action. Manchester City dominated everywhere on the pitch and it was rare that the visitors in the first half were up in the opponent's field.

Shortly before the break, it was 3-0 to Manchester City, when Kevin de Bruyne put a sugar ball into the field for an onrushing Benjamin Mendy, who nicely put the ball in the net and extended the home team's lead.

In the second half, the picture was exactly the same as before the break. City played out a tame Burnley squad. And after a little over an hour of play, Ferran Torres made it 4-0 after a nice attack by the home team.

And a few minutes later, Burnley were again put on the mat when substitute Phil Foden found a completely free Riyad Mahrez, and then he completed his hat trick and the score is 5-0.

It could also have been 6-0 to Manchester City when Burnley's goalkeeper Peacock Ferra was unlucky to fumble the ball into his own net. Fortunately for the goalkeeper, Gabriel Jesus was offside in the sequence before and therefore the goal was canceled after a through check in VAR.

Nothing more happened in the match, and thus Manchester City took a solid 5-0 victory in a match where Riyad Mahrez was the great experience with his hat trick.
