Happy Birthday Julen! I wish you have a wonderful first season that will set the basis for a long term domination as we all crave.
Your tactical geniuses is already been of great advantage to this current Real Madrid I must confessed but some holes really need to patch up.let's take a look at the game against Girona on Sunday, The match showed both glimpses of our brilliance as well as some of the flaws in our team.In the first half of the match,Madrid wasn't that good in moving the ball around and was putting in some clueless crosses which did not have a target. Marcelo was too much up the pitch and Girona were executing their game plan to perfection. They constantly played long balls to their right hand side and made some really dangerous breaks. Although Girona tried to do the same on the other side too but Carvajal tracked back to defend unlike Marcelo who didn't. Kroos was the only player that I found to have been playing at his usual best.
In the second half we saw a completely different Real Madrid. Just after Benzema's goal Real Madrid started to play their flawless game with the highlight being the great one touch move between Asensio, Isco and Benzema. Isco who who was poor by his standards played an Inch perfect pass to set up Bale in the second half.
Our match on sunday was the clear example of how we might be through out the season. The two half's presented a completely different team. Julen lopetegui's style and what he intends to do was clearly in display in the second half.
Now why I said this match might be the reflection of our season is that we can have an entire match like the first half or like the second half. But the thing that was most worrying was during our bad phase of the game we were putting in crosses without a single target. There can be times when our team might go into desperation mode and in those situations the easiest thing to do is put in crosses rather than trying to break down the defense through the centre. It is during those matches we might realise how important a backup striker that can head the ball and score some goals would be. Although we must play through the centre most of the time, our wing play must be improved.
Between I think Gareth Bale has found himself so comfortable in julen Lopetugui playing style,He had a good game overall contributing to the teams attacking development, responding well to the pres, giving good passes, making great runs and scoring after a brilliant personal effort from Isco's magical pass.
I really think this would be bale season only of injury doesn't come in so early in this phase
Here's a video analysis of Gareth bale that explains what julen lopetugui as impacted on the team👇
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ONCE AGAIN
WHAT WOULD YOU WISH JULEN?
