The Everton managerial seat has been something of an imbrogloi in recent weeks after the sack of big name coach Rafa Benitez. https://scorum.com/en-us/football/@ogeewitty/get-out-of-our-club

A caretaker coach in Duncan Ferguson was installed in his second spell as caretaker boss and he has handled just one match– Everton's 1 nil loss to Villa on January 22nd,their 10th loss in the last 13 matches. This was Everton's last match before this ongoing 2 week winter break. The club has been scouring all over to get a reputable coach.

At a time, reports spoke of their former coach and current Belgium coach Martinez, but they couldn't get him to leave immediately. They even beckoned on Mourinho of Roma and Mourinho in typical fashion cleared the air, stating clearly that he is enjoying his time at AS Roma. Then it was Wayne Rooney in the news, reports saying he has been quizzed on the job by the Everton management. One time Balon D'or winner Fabio Cannavaro was also interviewed.

Finally something official came calling and all agreements were reached for Everton to bring the Portuguese Vitor Periera, former Porto coach. As the club got set for his unveiling the fans began a huge uproar rejecting the incoming man,as his CV didn't attract them, whilst they called for a certain English football great,Frank Lampard to be picked. The fans in unity protested heavy and hard and they were consistent enough to force the hand of the board to pull the plug on that deal and consider Lampard.

Today my news desk can authoritatively reveal to you that the Lampard deal is virtually done and dusted. Frank Lampard has satisfied the board and will sign as new Everton manager in the coming hours, just paper work left. This decision has also been communicated to Vitor Pereira and Duncan Ferguson tonight. These are as reported by reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano

Everton is currently in a precarious position of 16th in the EPL log(though with games in hand) and if the fans prefer a coach:

1) who was a legend as a footballer.

2) who made his name as a player playing for a big club, Chelsea.

3) who knows the current English league inside out because it's not so long he retired,he's just 43.

4) who has coached Chelsea and left a decent mark thére– in 84 games he won 44,drew 17 and lost 23. He guided Chelsea to the FA Cup runner-up position in the 2019–20 season and he won the EPL Manager of the month in 2019.

then I think the fans have made a great choice, that will relax their nerves going forward.

Frankie's back.

Cheers
