Chelsea were at home to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup and the game was such an easy one for them as they thrashed Nottingham Forest 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. It was such an easy one for the blues as they recorded almost 76% of the ball possession. Nottingham Forest were fourth in the championship and playing against a team that also occupies the fourth places in the English Premier League is such an interesting one but in term of standard, we can never compare the EPL with Championship, even the manager of Nottingham Forest before the game admit that the Blues have all it takes to triumph over his team but just like we all know that the game of football is all about 90 minutes and the manager in other form may be playing what it is tagged mind game but in terms of reputation, Nottingham Forest can not stand the Blues.

Ross Barkley celebrating his goal

Immediately the game begins, Chelsea continues to dominates and it only took them just 6 minutes to go ahead in the game as Odoi Hudson cut in from the left flank and curl a shot into the bottom of the Nottingham Forest net. The young starlet was tipped to fill Hazard boot before sustaining an injury which makes him miss some of the opening games in the league and ever since he has return from injury, he made some positive contributions before loosing his place to America captain Pulisic and ever since then, he has been working hard to get back into the line up and playing against Nottingham Forest is another chance for him to convince the manager reason why he should be in the line up.

Fikayo Tomori blocking the ball against Nottingham player

Chelsea manager made almost 9 changes to his starting XI with most of the featured players having some league experience but has played fewer matches this season with players like Caballero, Christensen, Tomori, Barkley, Hudson-Odoi, Batshuayi, Pedro and Lamptey who made his debut in the league against Arsenal in a 2-1 victory at Emirates stadium all in the line up while Nottingham Forestmanager also made some changes to his line up and also giving Alex Mighten his first start. Like 5 of Nottingham Forest players were below 21 years old and after Hudson put Chelsea ahead in the game, the Referee in charge awarded them a penalty which was later review by the Video Assistance Referee and was reversed. After that Chelsea continue to dominate the game and Batshuayi almost get himself on the scoring sheet from James cross out before Ross Barkley doubled the lead in the 33 minutes for the Londoners.

Kovacic challenging for the ball

Chelsea came close on many occasions to increase the scoreline but their effort didn't bring positive result as Hudson affort was parried away by Nottingham Forest goal keeper Smith while Barkley also had a chance to score his second goal but was later denied by Smith. Hudson Odoi was so spectacular in that particular encounter, with most of his shot going the wrong direction before Chelsea manager Lampard giving young academy player Lamptey his first home debut after introducing the player against Arsenal and with both teams failing to find the back of the net in the second half, it means Chelsea have now progress into the next round of the competition and will be playing against Hull City in the next round.
