It was really a moan day for Argentina in their opening game in the Copa America against Colombia in the group B as the team fell to a disappointing start with a 2-0 lost at the Arena Fonte Nova. This game was a real definition of physical football from start to finish. The expectation was so high for Argentina with the quality of player in their line up.

Lionel Messi on the other hand has not be doing well as far as international competition is concern and if there is any player who need this competition very much, I think he is really the one because this has always be the major talking point whenever the issue between him and C. Ronaldo arises among football lovers. He has never won any major trophy with the Argentina senior team while Ronaldo recently won the Nation league with Portugal.

This is the first time Colombia will be defeating Argentina since 2007 and this time around, it wasn't a good one at all because it is more of Lionel Messi now rather than Argentina. It was really a frustrating match for Messi because he really need to boost his success with the national team.

Argentina had the chance to go ahead in the game through Nicolas Otamendi headed which David Ospina did well to save, Argentina continue to create more chances when Messi also came close to put the ahead but Colombia goalkeeper Ospina was fully in the game.

Both teams tried to find the way in the first half but all their efforts yielded no result and that take the match to a goalless draw in the first half. Colombia really hold the likes of Angel di Maria, Aguero and Lionel Messi upfront.

Immediately after the first half, Rodrigo replaced Di Maria and the tempo was so high for Argentina again, infact Rodrigo introduction in the second half gave Lionel Messi more freedom to operate and created more chance but non of those chances resulted into goal.

The game was full of physical display, one of it led to a mass quarel between the players when Juan Cuadrado was booked for a challenge on Lionel Messi.

The Barcelona skipper also saw another rebound wasted from close range before Roger Martinez finally break the deadlock for Colombia in the 71 minutes of the game with an outstanding finish, he received the ball from the left flank, cut in inside the box before curling the ball into the corner of the post.

Argentina in an attempt to find an equalizer also went down to another goal through Zapata in the 86 minutes when he converted the ball into the net and handed Colombia a perfect start to the campaign in the competition while Argentina on the other end was left frustrated.

According to J. Walker, he says

keep walking

This is my word of encouragement for the whole team, yes! They should keep walking because the journey may look so far but as far as they are walking, they will get there.
