It's really a moan day for Manchester United as their visitation to Goodison park wasn't a fruitful one because the team were disgraced, embarrassed, thrashed, flogged, defeated 4 goals to nil by Everton at Goodison park. It seems United manager Solskjaer Ole honeymoon has really come to an end with the current performance of the team. The team was defeated home and away to Barcelona in the UEFA champions league some weeks ago and their only hope of returning to the UEFA champions league next season is to try all their possible best to make it to the top 4.
Everton were so vibrant and fizzing throughout the whole 90 minutes and make life unbearable for Manchester United who needed the maximum point to be in the race for the top 4, Everton show a brilliant display from the beginning of the match which makes United players committed some errors. Chris Smalling first loose the ball when trying to move the ball forward from the box, Jones also fell over and gave Everton their first corner kick, even Lindelof was seen on many occasions not covering his position very well and these was what Everton capitalized on
Goodison park this season has now became the home of giant killer with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea failing to get result away from there, in fact, Everton are yet to concede a goal from their last home games to Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United, what a good home record for the Toffees
Richarlison put Everton ahead in just 13 minutes of the game with an acrobatic volley after seeing his first effort been saved by De Gea before Sigurdsson added another goal with a fine finish from outside the box in 28 minutes before the half time. United manager Solskjaer was forced to make two changes in the 45 minutes, Young was in for Jones while McTominay also came in for Fred but that wasn't enough to solve the team problem.
United struggling continues in the second half after a corner kick clearance found Lucas Digne and the player fired a powerful shot into the corner of the post in the 56 minutes. 10 minutes after the third goal, Sigurdsson nutmegged Lindelof before Walcott ran clear on his pass to score the fourth goal for Everton. United only attempt on goal came in the 85 minutes and was saved by Pickford who was on break throughout the match until the match get to 85 minutes.
United were awful throughout the 90 minutes and the only thing they should be aware of now is Thursday night next season in the Europa league either Solskjaer remains the manager or not.
Coco Chanel say something concerning success, he says;
Success is most often achieved by those who don't know that failure is inevitable.”
I think what he was trying to establish here is the fact that success can only be achieved when you don't see failure as impossible to prevent, it is one of the way of appreciating success, it is just like when there is no conflict, there is no peace. The team still have a chance to bounce back from the defeat when they take on Chelsea.
