Ngolo Kante can be best describe in the midfield role as a horse that never get tired and a stone as well with the way he control the position in every game right from his Leicester City days, he is a player that is very strong with the ball and his speed is another attribute that make him standout. His performance over the years has earned his lot of recognition in the role with various clubs across Europe willing to have him in their squad. He has won lot of trophies with four years with different clubs and his national team.

A friend of mine sometimes ago cracked a joke about his saying if they are going to invent any instrument in measuring the area every players cover on the pitch, then they should named it Kantemeter because Ngolo Kante is always everywhere on the pitch. He is not a DM that is restricted to that role alone, most of the time you see him operating from the flank and making some intersection there and as well in the defense line. He was identify as the new Makelele of our time with the way he shutdown every opposition play and a player that never get tired in the game.

If there is another word to use in describing this man, then consistency is the right word to use here because he is always available throughout the season to play every matches. Having played a total of 37 league matches in 38 matches for Leicester City back in 2015/2016, he joined Chelsea the following season having won the Premier league with the Foxes, he also managed 35 appearances with the club and 34 and 36 in the following two season to show the level of his consistency but so far so good this season, he has not be regular in the line up for Chelsea due to injuries.

This season would have be his best season so far in terms of number of goals because the highest goal he had is 4 goals last season under Sarri when he was made to play as an attacking midfielder. He has missed 4 matches out of 8 this season with 2 goals to his credit against Liverpool and Southampton, due to injury, he has not really be consistent for the blues. It look like the player is now paying the price of working tirelessly, since getting injured against Manchester United in the week 1, he has not being fully fit.

His recent injury with France in the international break is another big blow to Chelsea as he will not be up for selection when the club face Newcastle United in the week 9 of the league. Kante was replaced in the France line up with Moussa Sissoko after sustaining another injury to his hamstring. Chelsea manager Frank Lampard once advised Didier Deschamps not to select the midfielder during the last international break so that the player can be fully fit for the season and since returning back to the blues line up, he has been spectacular for the team scoring two goals against Liverpool and Southampton. Kovacic will now fill his gap when the league resume back on October 19.
