What an unbelievable year Liverpool are having. Liverpool thrashing Roma at Anfield made me believe that anything was possible. Champions league final what a game even though they lost. Liverpool 4-3 Manchester City was fantastic. And in the CL the 3-0 win at Anfield and 2-1 win at Eithad as well! The whole champions league campaign apart from the final. All their clean sheet moments between this half season was amazing. I never seen they can be solid defends before this. As well as LFC bring Alisson to Anfield. Just really enjoying this ride they are on. The confidence in LFC is the highest I’ve ever known, and they are getting the deserved praise from all quarters.

Long may this continue. 4-3 PL match against Man City. It showed everyone that they were fully prepared to continue their season without Coutinho. It also began to give the Ox plenty of confidence to enjoy the rest of his season. They’ve had a couple of amazing moments this year, 100% the best year for fans personally following LFC. The Manchester City games, the Roma home game, the derby against Everton with Original as an unlikely hero. Let’s hope 2019 can be an even better one for them and bring some silverware to Anfield! So many moments that made Liverpool fan lose my voice. The Origi last second winner vs Everton. To win titles you also need luck. That’s the kind of luck Manchester United had throughout their spell on top of English football. It’s something as silly as that that can make you believe again.

Been so many outstanding performers this year and it’s hard to look beyond the front 3 and especially Salah, you can look at the emergence of Robertson as a genuinely world class full back. For me though, if I had to select one best player of 2018, its Van Dijk. I can’t remember a single player, and a defender at that coming in and changing a club the way he has. He is the best player in his position in the world right now and they have gone from being a bit of a joke defensively to the meanest defense in Europe’s top leagues. He will become a giant at Liverpool and I hope he stays for the rest of his career. Mo salah was also a beast in 2018. Some of the goals in some of the biggest situations are just art and at the end of the year he’s just blown haters and doubters away! Salah, VVD and Robertson were incredible this season. But their main problem all these years was the defense and now it’s gone. So, I’d give it to VVD, or Robertson.

For me the best player is the player who has been the most influential on the whole club and the players, that’s got to be Van Dijk. He’s been with them for just a year now and even though Hendo is the captain he took the role non the less, he shows how you can be a captain for your team even without wearing the captains band. VVD, no brainier. He has utterly changed their mentality and they might win the league in May because of his leadership qualities. Simple. It’s happening. Sometimes it takes seasons for players to become a leader in a new team. Only few months were needed for VVD. He has been unstoppable in defensive and has lifted the entire team and made players around him reach a level they’ve never been at before. Even though he is no every game captain he has led the boys in many ways. With multiple clean sheets and multiple counter or attacks being put down. He also looks after the boys no matter what which is very rare in the history of the game. Firmino was also brilliant for his goals assists and world class work rate. Andy Robertson, he stepped up as a player always supplying the ball into the box and being a great player when attacking and defending which is rare. Liverpool all deserve it as they played like a team each game. Well done boys and here's to 2019. It might be their year.
