Foyth was by far the best player for Spurs in last match. Would have been a significantly better option in midfield than Dier, who has been dreadful for a long time, gives the ball away far too often. Being knocked out of the cup isn’t the end of the season for Spurs, but I don’t see things getting any better with the currently fit players! They just have no squad depth at all. A top team's 2nd choice striker has to be able to finish. Must have better fullbacks ( Trippier has been bad lately) and they need another center mid as dier and winks need breaks as they can't play every game for 38 weeks. They can do what they want about creating unheard of players which have been good for players like dier and Alli but for now, they need to sign someone who already has some experience and is already a top player.
Last match Spurs had a bizarre line up with their best midfielder and defender at home. Then leaving the likes of Rose and Winks on the bench? He kept Llorente on the entire game who is rubbish, I think to make a point that they need a striker. I think that he has thought with the injuries they have, playing these extra games will hurt. I think it's a mixture of trying to prove a point of needing a bunch of new players and getting rid of unnecessary games. Llorente can't be played, if they had someone even at the level of Jimenez from wolves they would have won. Wanyama was also terrible, gave the ball away too many times in midfield with sloppy touches and passes. Embarrassing.
Spurs were on such a high during the festive period people were talking about how they were title contenders. Now they are out of two cups and questioning if we’ll even make the top four. The festive period was deteriorating their player's fitness and now they are really feeling the effects of it. Foyth was the only player who wasn’t bad. It has happened year after year, they don’t sign anyone, and never win anything, they will be lucky if they come top 4. Levy needs to step up and give Pochettino some money, else the future will be like it is now. It will continue like this if they don’t do anything about it.
They need to start signing some players because if they don’t then this will continue. If they can get Rabiot than he can improve their squad. If they don't buy quickly they are going to massively struggle. There’s a hell of a lot to play for in terms of CL, if they don’t stay there then they will be in a lot of problems. Fans have lost faith in Levy. He needs to invest in Pochettino, give him some cash. They can’t be dropping point In February, fans need Champions league in their stadium next season. If this isn't a sign for Levy to open up wallet of his, I don't know what is. And this is when all the big names will start leaving.
That's what they get for not buying in summer it was always gonna happen and with the new stadium to pay for sadly it will be like this. I'm sure that with Harry and Dele they would've easily passed through both cups. But their season is now technically over. They need stronger subs if they want to compete, they can't depend on injuries and some few players. I think Borussia will batter them unless Sonny and Eriksen make miracles. With all respect, the fans should calm down. Let's hope this pushes them to make a good signing.
