This transfer was done on bad timing for Liverpool. They need him on the bench, they are not very deep around this position and TAA did not have his best game last time despite his long ball to set up the goal. I really like Clyne, hope he gets the minutes he deserves and comes back stronger than ever. Maybe he didn't wanna be a benchwarmer? You gotta respect his wish to play football honestly, he's been out for so long, and now that he's back, he can't get on the starting 11.

They have Matip & Gomez injured with no backup for Trent now. Maybe all this is happening to free up space for bringing someone in this transfer window? But in Liverpool point of view, silly to let him go in January when they still have a ton of games and injuries tend to be more common. Why make the squad weaker? They are still in 2 cups and a league to challenge for! City have a quality back up in every position! Clyne proved himself against Utd when needed. They have 2 defenders out and Moreno is not performing well. Very bad decision from Liverpool though.

Lovren as always goes missing and out of position on big games and Trent played as well as he could. I felt sorry for them both as it was just him and Van Dijk that was having to deal with there attacks at a few points of the game. Lovren out positioned every time. The 2nd goal hit the post and went in from a tight angle that could have missed quite easily. A bit of luck is what was needed for them with that goal and that’s what they got. Liverpool didn’t get any and sometimes you need that just a little bit. Never mind they are still top as long as they don’t bottle it and keep winning city will have to keep winning as well.

Lovren makes the big mistake in the big game! That’s why Aguero played on him! He’s also had big games in big games if you know what I mean, it’s just his consistency is really really poor, and game management too! I think he showed City too much respect! I mean I know they played well and deserved the win, but a playmaker would have destroyed that midfield last night. Fernandinho did all the mopping up and just allowed the Silva’s to cheat. The 3 didn’t get anywhere near him because they are too defensively or negatively minded.

Not one of those 3 thought to stand on Fernandinho and go 2 on 2 with the Silva. Stay tight, make them do something. Liverpool did nothing except stand back and allow them to dictate the pace. You can’t beat a Pep team sitting back and allowing the midfield to take control! That’s how Liverpool beat City 3 times last year!bIf Clyne is going then they should better be having a new right back coming in then!! What about back up? It is the vital part of the season and Liverpool have an even thinner defense bench. I remember them being at bare bones in defense not so long ago. Bad decision unless they are bringing in a world class RB.

But from Clyne point of view, we have to respect that professional footballers, like him, need first team action and that this loan move will give him that position. This loan move will strengthen his fitness with playing time, unlike sitting on the bench in Liverpool. I see this move more as a way to get his name out there again and hopefully gain attention to become a stronger replacement for Trent or a popular player that premier league sides would want to sign at a better price. Clyne wants to leave and play. Not everyone likes to sit on the bench and get their pay only.. Forcing him to stay might make him unhappy and he might not play to his best.
