The fifth edition of Bangabandhu Goldcup has started in Bangladesh. Last year Nepal won the tournament by defeating Bahrain by 3-0 in the final. This year defending champion Nepal is going to begin their new journey playing against Tajikistan. Nepal, Tajikistan, and Palestine are drawn in the group A of the Fifth Bangabandhu Goldcup 2018.

The match between Nepal and Tajikistan will be played on the Silate district football ground. After the successful campaign last year Nepal will look to continue their run. But it’s not easy for Nepal to win against the higher-ranked Tajikistan. Currently, Nepal is ranked 160th in the FIFA Ranking. Meanwhile, Tajikistan is ranked 120th in the FIFA Ranking.

Nepal and Tajikistan have met each other in last year AFC Asian Cup Qualifier. In both matches, Nepal was defeated by Tajikistan. In the first match, Nepal lost to Tajikistan by 2-1 in their home and in away match Nepal lost by 3-0.

Tomorrow Nepal will be playing without their two critical players from last year squad. Their essential midfield player Rohit Chand is not in the team, in place of Rohit Tej Tamang has got chance. Kiran Chemjong, the most experienced Nepali GoalKeeper, is replaced by Bishal Shrestha. This is a crucial game for both teams. Both teams want to win this match and grab all three points. Both teams will play their last group game against strong side Palestine.
