Hope we all feeling the Xmas breeze??? Welcome to another week of our Weekend Around The Clock Contest. We've seen our champions league and Europa league teams that qualified for the Round of 16. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. The game is in a stake of no child's play. Our third positioned teams in the champions league will be visiting the Europa for the round 16 spot too. You'll definitely need to be up and doing in every bit of hard work to secure the next spot. No pain, No gain.
Group C, F, G & H were at their toughest Moment. Atlanta's win over Shakhtar Donetsk saved them a qualification grace as group leaders Manchester city sent Dynamo Zagreb packing.
Inter Milan fell off to the Europa after their lackadaisical play against Barcelona at home in match day six. A win at the game would have guaranteed them the chance to secure a spot yet they couldn't hold unto the grip much longer. Barcelona win sent the priceless joy down to Dortmund as they were also keeping Slavia Prague in check with a 2-1 win.
Lyon were protected by their 2-2 draw against RB Leipzig. Playing 2-0 down in the first half, the struggled for an equaliser which helped them escape Europa. Benfica with an unexpected win over Zenit St Petersburg moves up to 7 points while the Zenit Stays last with 7 points still. A goalless draw at the game would have possibly secured them a passage through to the round of 16.
Ajax beautiful dream for another wonderful UCL journey was shattered by Valencia's 0-1 away win. A draw at home would have saved them a spot but their recklessness cost them. They finished third and will get a spot in the Europa league knockout phase. Chelsea and Valencia enjoys the ride on in the bog boys game.
